This is the exact hospital bag checklist from the Momly app — for mom, baby, documents and your birth partner. In the app you can tick items off one by one and add your own.

For Mom

  • Loose, comfortable clothes to wear during labor
  • 2–3 front-opening nightgowns (for nursing)
  • Spare clothes and underwear
  • Oversized / disposable underwear
  • Nursing bra and breast pads
  • Maternity pads (postpartum, extra-absorbent)
  • Robe and slippers
  • Separate shower slippers
  • Towel
  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, and toiletries
  • Wet wipes (a separate pack for mom)
  • Paper towels and napkins
  • Soft toilet paper (the hospital's can be rough)
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Small trash bags (for dirty laundry)
  • Dry shampoo
  • Nipple cream (lanolin)
  • Lip balm and hand cream
  • Hair clips / ties
  • Glasses or contact lens supplies (if you wear them)
  • Earplugs and eye mask
  • Healthy snacks
  • Water bottle
  • Any medications you take regularly
  • Phone + long charging cable
  • Comfortable outfit to go home in

For Baby

  • 3–4 snap bodysuits
  • 2–3 footed onesies
  • Newborn diapers (a small pack is plenty)
  • Baby wipes / cotton pads (newborn-safe, fragrance-free)
  • Diaper rash cream
  • Disposable changing pads
  • A small container for boiled-water cotton (umbilical cord care)
  • Hat
  • Socks and mittens
  • Burp cloths
  • Blanket
  • Going-home outfit
  • Car seat (installed in the car for the ride home)

Documents

  • ID
  • Prenatal records and test results
  • Hospital pre-registration / insurance paperwork
  • Blood type card (if you have one)
  • A copy of your birth plan

For Partner

  • Change of clothes
  • Snacks and water
  • Phone charger
  • Toothbrush and a small toiletry kit
  • Cash / card (parking, vending machines)
  • A light blanket or cardigan (for the wait)
  • Wet wipes and tissues
